Please try to book your local church before booking a venue for your party, particularly for summer and autumn weddings.

You only need to complete this form if you are a couple living in one of our six parishes who require a Banns certificate in order to marry in another Church of England Parish that is not within our benefice. If you are in doubt, contact the local vicar.
We recommend that those looking to approach the church for a funeral, requiem mass, burial of ashes or memorial service involving the interment of remains, do so via a professional organiser, such as a local funeral director. Local to our Benefice there are a number of family-run undertakers who are familiar with our churches and clergy and can be trusted to do an excellent job. These include:
Grassby and Sons Funeral Directors (Based in Dorchester and Weymouth)
Matt Lucas Funeral Director (Based in Poundbury)
Woods Funeral Directors (Based in Dorchester)
AJ Wakely (Based in Yeovil)
Please note that you do not need to find an external celebrant. The Rector or another licensed minister will take the service for you.
Fees for funerals are set by the central Church of England, and a portion of these goes to the local church. We are always grateful when families consider giving part of a retiring collection to support the church, allowing us to create warm, welcoming places of rest and prayer for the whole community.
