As Christians, and as part of the Church of England, we believe in one God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We focus our worship on praising God, reading and understanding God's word, the 'Sacraments' (outward signs of God's inward work) of Holy Communion and Baptism, lifting the concerns of our community up in prayer, and sharing fellowship and friendship.
Our focus as a community, and as part of Salisbury Diocese, is 'Making Jesus Known', by sharing the love of God with our local communities and by joining in wherever we see God at work. Our Benefice community is missional (outward facing), active, welcoming and inclusive.
We hold the word of God (the Bible) and the Sacraments at the heart of our worship.
What are Sacraments?
The Church of England cherishes two main sacraments, Baptism and the Eucharist, which were instituted by Jesus Christ, and are shared in, in various ways, by Christians around the world. Many Christians around the world also value Reconciliation, Marriage, Confirmation, Ordination, and Anointing of the sick and dying, as part of this vital outward sign of God's grace. Our worshipping communities (in different villages) have different characters, and so each value different traditions in worship, but we are all devoted to sharing God's love, reading God's word, receiving from God in the Eucharist, and creating an unconditional welcome. You can use the 'parishes' menu above to find out more about each church community.
Safeguarding is at the heart of what it means to us to make Jesus known. We believe that all people are made in God's image, and all people deserve to live in safety and be treated with respect and dignity. Please do not hesitate to contact us, or an independant organisation, if you have any concerns about safeguarding in our churches.
